Whats Kapa Haka?

? What is kapa haka ?

Kapa Haka is a maori culture. If you want to know what Kapa means it means group and haka means dance.  Most kapa haka songs represent history because in the olden days the iwi did not have books or paper. So the kept the history in waiata. The earliest known rendition of the haka was to get a guy to show his niho. Kapa haka is part kaiwaiata. I hope you learnt a lot.

Leighton house visit

A couple of weeks ago our class went to leighton house (old folk home.  "We are here" said Jo.  Everyone meet up at the front of the rest home.  After a while the HQ (Me, Charlotte and Finn) got asked to pick up the buckets of sand and the flag and put them inside.  So we did, then the whole class came in.

We got to go up to someone and play them a song on the uke or play a game. I went up to grumpy person and said: do you want me to play the uke?  And he said, NO GO AWAY.  Then we went up to the lady and she said yes.  We played you are my sunshine.  My friend Neve was taking pictures of everyone. The End.

Cross Country

"Year 4 girls come to the starting line please!"Koka Sue yelled.  in the inside I felt nervous but i was trying to be tough on the outside.  Bang, off we ran as fast as lightning bolts.  Going up the dunes I got puffed and walked, but otherwise I was good.  I ended up by Te Atawhai1 minute later I was on my second lap!  "I'm so puffed."I murmured.Keep on running I thought to myself.  We were so close to the end and i pushed myself to the fastest I could go my goal was all ways to beat Te Atawhai and I achieved it after my legs hurt.  Even 3 days later my leg still hurt.  The end. Interesting haiku poem

Hi I'm Ella, This term we made haiku poems and they were about matariki.  I also learnt that other countries have different cultures.  My haiku poem was about the Navajo peoples culture.  My Poem went like this:
The Flint Flint boy cluster,
Every time he stamps his foot,
the stars move upwards.

I Like it, do you? Tell me in the comments.
